As you know I have been a client of Connect NC for over 10 years and might I add I would not change that despite the fact I moved to Charlotte 2 years ago. It’s noon, and it’s already 95 degrees. What are you doing to stay cool? If you’re lucky, you live near one of the public or private pools in the area, and can cool off with a swim.
It’s very important during hot weather to do what you can to keep cool. If you don’t have air conditioning, take a trip to an area restaurant, retail store or Sandhill Cinemas to catch a movie. Hang out at the home of a friend or relative who does have air conditioning.
Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water or other clear beverages. Avoid alcohol, since it will just dehydrate you more.
If you feel as though you’ve overdone it, seek the attention of a health care professional.
Please, let’s not forget our furry family members. Pets need to be looked after too! Make sure they have plenty of clean, fresh water to drink. Bring them indoors. If they want to be outside, make sure they have shady areas in which to take refuge from the heat. Don’t ever chain or tie your pets outdoors.
