Retirement in southern US and North Carolina
Aug 22nd, 2007 by Monica

Historically, Pinehurst North Carolina has been a popular retirement area in the south.  With the golf, moderate climate in the South, and acceptable cost of living, senior citizens have chosen the Sandhills for their choice of retirement relocation.  Fore Properties specializes in finding the right home for those retiring to relocate to North Carolina.  Maybe you don’t realize you would like to live in North Carolina. You may think Florida or Arizona is the retirement relocation choice.  Those locations may be beneficial for some folks who already live in the South.  It’s important to explore your opportunities.  SandhillsTeam will also help you learn about the community and all the activities such as golf,  and friendly faces.  It gives a new meaning to the word retirement.

New and Pre-owned cars in Pinehurst
Aug 16th, 2007 by Monica

There are lots of good automobile dealers in the Pinehurst area. A good place to search is http://www.sandhillsonline.com but here is one  I can mention right here as well too.

http://www.clarkcadillac.com is a great place to buy Chevrolets, Cadillacs, and Oldsmobiles.  The Chevrolet Corvette is one I had the privilege of owning for a short period of time until my daughter was born.  Then what could I do with a purple convertible :-(

Pinehurst Real Estate and Seven Lakes Real Estate
Aug 16th, 2007 by Monica

Families looking for homes in Pinehurst or Seven Lakes can find a variety of realtors on www.sandhillsonline.com. There are different towns in the Sandhills area of North Carolina. Since we’re so close to *Cary, NC, Raleigh, NC and not too far from Fayetteville, NC, families choose Pinehurst real estate as their option for living safely in North Carolina. There are a lot of new subdivisions and new homes in the Seven Lakes real estate area. Seven Lakes South has an overwhelming number of families. There are also lots of retirement areas in Pinehurst or Seven Lakes. Even Whispering Pines real estate, which used to be mainly retirement area, has a growing number of families. Check out www.sandhillskids.com as well for family related activities in the Pinehurst area if you are looking to move here. If you work in Raleigh or Cary, the commute is less than most city commutes out to the suburbs! When I lived in Naperville, Illinois and worked in Chicago, the commute I had was over an hour each way, with toll booths to boot!

* Cary is often misspelled as “Carey.”

Lost all my data on my computer!
Aug 13th, 2007 by Monica

This is all too common of a phone call for us here at ConnectNC, Inc.  It’s such a sad call to receive, when you hear that coming from a crying customer who didn’t back up their computer :-(  Computer Backups are So important.  We are asked all too often how to restore lost files and our first question is “Where is your backup?”.  Most of the time it was something backed up to a CD months ago, or it was “I meant to back it up last week but forgot”.

With ConnectNC’s free offsite backup service trial, you have nothing to lose.  If you try it for 30 days and like it, then just simply continue to use it.  If you decide to opt out then just let us know so we don’t charge your card.  Please email backups@webgnostics.com for a free trial today.  We have personal service and will be there for you in your time of need.

In general, we have residential customers using it for their personal files such as pictures, Quicken files, other databases and documents.  We have also small to medium businesses using it for their offsite backup of SQL server databases, Access databases, Excel spreadsheets, Documents and more.

The best thing about this offsite backup service is that it is HIPAA compliant remote backup.  It is also something that you easily configure using a point and click, setup your schedule so it automatically backups up your data and you don’t have to remember!

Please contact us today for a free trial.  You will not regret it!  It works on Microsoft Windows currently.  For Mac users, we’re working on a solution so please stay tuned.

Thank you for reading ConnectNC’s blog, here to provide you with the most useful information.

Expert Computer Repair for Residents of Moore County - Pinehurst and Southern Pines
Aug 12th, 2007 by Beth

Did you know that ConnectNC offers computer repair services? It’s a natural extension of our business as an Internet Service Provider. After we started offering service in early summer of 1996, customers began to ask us to troubleshoot and fix computer problems. We’ve been helping the good people of Moore, Montgomery and other locations ever since.

If you need an upgrade, software installation, virus removal or just a check up, give us a call. You can bring your computer into our office at 420 SW Broad Street in Southern Pines, or we’ll come to your home or office. If it’s a new computer you’re looking for, we’re an authorized Dell reseller. Your new computer will be delivered to your home and set up, so all you have to do it start using it.

If you have a simple problem, and you’re connected to the Internet, it doesn’t matter where you are! We offer remote assistance, too.

Computer repair and other services can be arranged by calling (910) 695-7068, ext 22.

As you know I have been a client of Connect NC for over 10 years and might I add I would not change that despite the fact I moved to Charlotte 2 years ago. There are many reasons for this; the always friendly efficient staff, service and of course your expert trouble shooting to list a few.
While I am sure there may be someone in this great metropolis that could fix my “old slow computer” I just feel nobody does it better than you. Worth the 2 hour drive is what I say! Gayle S.

Another scorcher
Aug 5th, 2007 by Beth

It’s noon, and it’s already 95 degrees. What are you doing to stay cool? If you’re lucky, you live near one of the public or private pools in the area, and can cool off with a swim.

It’s very important during hot weather to do what you can to keep cool. If you don’t have air conditioning, take a trip to an area restaurant, retail store or Sandhill Cinemas to catch a movie. Hang out at the home of a friend or relative who does have air conditioning.

Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water or other clear beverages. Avoid alcohol, since it will just dehydrate you more.

If you feel as though you’ve overdone it, seek the attention of a health care professional.

Please, let’s not forget our furry family members. Pets need to be looked after too! Make sure they have plenty of clean, fresh water to drink. Bring them indoors. If they want to be outside, make sure they have shady areas in which to take refuge from the heat. Don’t ever chain or tie your pets outdoors.
